Before You Buy an EV, Know This: The Car Is Easy — the Charging Is the Part Nobody Warns You About
An electric car is simple to drive and, if you can charge at home, usually cheaper per mile than gas. The hard part is everything around the plug: three charging speeds, competing connector types, public chargers that are broken as often as not, and a phone full of apps just to pay. And one thing changed that the old advice gets wrong — the federal $7,500 EV tax credit is gone for any vehicle bought after September 30, 2025.
