The BL:UF tries to collect as little about you as possible. Here's the whole picture.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you give it to us. When you subscribe, we store your email so we can send you the digest. That's it. We don't ask for your name, and we don't require an account to read anything on this site.
- Basic, privacy-friendly analytics. We measure aggregate traffic (which stories are read, roughly where readers come from) using a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use tracking cookies and does not build a profile of you across the web.
What we do with it
- We use your email to send you The BL:UF and occasional notices about it. Nothing else.
- We use analytics to understand what's worth covering. It's counted in aggregate, not tied to you by name.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your email or personal data.
- We don't run third-party ad trackers on this site.
- We don't share your information except with the service providers that operate the site for us (our email provider and our hosting/analytics provider), strictly to deliver the things above.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time — every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and we honor it.
- Get removed — to have your email deleted from our list entirely, write desk@thebluf.news and we'll remove it.
Service providers we rely on
- Email delivery: our newsletter provider stores the subscriber list and sends the email.
- Hosting & analytics: our web host serves the site and provides the aggregate, cookie-less analytics described above.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and date it. Questions: desk@thebluf.news.
